The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER)

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry has released a notification inviting all candidates for admission into the Medical Doctor (MD) / Mater of Science (M.S) programmes for the academic year 2016.

Eligibility criteria :

Essential qualification:

Candidates applying must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), or its equivalent qualification, from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).Applicants who have either completed, or are in the process of completing, one year rotatory internship training on or before May 30, 2016 are eligible to apply.It is a must for all candidate to be registered with the Central/State Medical Registration Council.

Selection process :

All the candidates will be selected on the basis of  their performance in the entrance test conducted by the institute.

How to apply:

Candidates need to submit applications by online mode only.Application fee of Rs, 1200/- or equivalent for sponsored candidates (Rs. 800/- for SC/ST applicants) should be paid through  credit card/ debit card/ net banking.OPH Candidates are exempted from paying fees.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research

 JIPMER originated as École de Médicine de Pondichérry established by the French Government in the year 1823.This medical school was converted into Dhanvantari Medical College at the time of de facto transfer of Pondicherry to Government of India.  This Medical College was later upgraded into Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).The institute is headed by Director as its Chief Executive charged with overall responsibility of running the institute and hospital administration.JIPMER were asked to nominate one member for creating an innovative multidisciplinary team which will work towards improving patient safety and quality of health care at JIPMER. Close to seventy members were nominated by each department and divisions of the hospital. As an initial step, these members were trained by an In-house CME and Workshop with internal and external faculties as resource persons in 20th October 2012. After the initial orientation and training through CME cum workshop, JIPMER Quality Council (JQC) was created by our Director on the same day
